Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information ScholaNoctis Ltd collects through this website, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. We have tried to keep it short, because we collect very little.
1. Who We Are
ScholaNoctis Ltd is the controller of the personal information described here, for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We are a company registered in England and Wales with company number 07324959. Our registered office is International House, 61 Mosley Street, Manchester, M2 3HZ.
For anything to do with this policy or your information, email us at contact@scholanoctis.com.
2. Information We Collect
If you send us an enquiry through the contact form, we collect:
- your name, email address, subject and message;
- your IP address;
- a few facts about the submission itself: when it arrived, how long the form was open before it was sent, and whether it passed our automated checks against spam.
If you email us directly, or we reply to your enquiry, we hold that correspondence in our mailbox.
If you simply browse the site, we do not collect anything about you. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and the site's fonts, styles and scripts are all served from our own server, so no other company learns of your visit. Our hosting provider necessarily handles your IP address to deliver each page to you, but we do not keep a record of which pages you visit.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your enquiry only to reply to it, and to discuss any work that follows from it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or, where you are asking about working with us, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
We use your IP address and the facts about your submission only to protect the contact form from spam and abuse: for example, to limit how many messages can be sent from one address in an hour. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable and our inbox free of junk.
Submissions that look automated are set aside without being forwarded to us. If you think a genuine message of yours has gone astray, please email us directly.
We never sell your information, we never use it for marketing, and we never share it except as described below.
4. Who We Share It With
We use two service providers, who process your information on our behalf and under contract with us:
- Amazon Web Services hosts this website and its contact form, and sends your enquiry to our mailbox. The website and everything stored by the form are held in AWS's Ireland region.
- Zoho Corporation provides our email. Your enquiry, and any correspondence that follows, is stored in our Zoho mailbox.
We will only disclose your information to anyone else if the law requires us to.
5. Where Your Information Is Stored
The website and its contact form store your information in Ireland, which the UK recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection.
Our email is hosted by Zoho in the United States. Because that is outside the UK, the transfer is protected by the safeguards in Zoho's data processing agreement with us, which include the contractual terms approved for such transfers under UK law.
6. How Long We Keep It
- Contact form submissions, including your IP address, are deleted from the website automatically after 90 days. Submissions set aside as automated are deleted after 30 days.
- The website's operational logs are deleted after 30 days. They record reference numbers and errors, not your name, email address or message.
- Correspondence in our mailbox is kept for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and then for no more than two years, or six years where it forms part of our business records.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
This website does not use cookies.
Your theme preference
If you choose a light or dark theme using the switcher in the menu, we remember that choice in your browser's local storage, so the site keeps your preference from page to page and on later visits. It is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. It contains nothing but the word "light" or "dark". Setting the switcher back to automatic removes it, as does clearing your browser's site data. If you never use the switcher, nothing is stored and the site follows your device's own setting.
8. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
- ask for it in a portable form.
To use any of these rights, email us at contact@scholanoctis.com. We will reply within one month, and there is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
